JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 42 DS - THE DECK SALOON THAT TRANSFORMS LIFE ON BOARD

Build and seakeeping

Polyester hull with a GRP - fibreglass deck, a proven structure. At 12.59 m overall, 4.13 m beam and 2.60 m draft for a displacement of 8,900 kg, the 42 DS is a stable, powerful platform upwind and downwind alike. The rig is complete: standing and running rigging, winches, mainsail traveller, backstay, halyard turning blocks and spinnaker gear, all handled from twin wheels. The sail wardrobe includes two in-mast furling mainsails, two genoas and a spinnaker / gennaker.

Power and accommodation

The 2006 YANMAR 4JH AE, a 4-cylinder seawater-cooled unit with 3,400 hours, drives a shaft transmission. Expect 6 knots cruising for around 2 l/h and 10 knots top speed, with 125 litres of diesel and 400 litres of fresh water. Below, 2 cabins and 4 berths, up to 8 people on board, with a full galley (hob, oven, microwave with grill from 2024, electric fridge), hot water renewed in 2023, TV and radio / hi-fi.
