Other information
SIGNE is one of the most beautiful yachts to come from the creative and technical skills of Bruce King. Her building by Renaissance Yachts took 5 years and resulted in the creation of a work of art. Passers-by have to stop and gaze in awe at this truly magnificent yacht. Her transom has been photographed on countless occasions. Her beautiful skylights have been copied by others.
Her outstanding interior joinery, designed by Joe Artese, is a blend of Hawaiian Koa, bird’s eye maple and olive wood, all combining with her teak soles and her beautifully laminated beams.
SIGNE’s hull and decks are massively built from the wood/epoxy system. The structure is immensely strong and offers excellent insulation.
SIGNE also has the advantage of a large centreboard (when up: 8’/2.5m) giving excellent windward performance and stability whilst allowing access to shallow harbours and bays.
The choice of ketch rig with hydraulic furling to both masts and hydraulic furling headsails makes SIGNE easy on her crew.
In 2009, SIGNE’s Main, Mizzen, Yankee and Staysail have been replaced by brand new Quantum custom made Isostrain laminated sails which are proven to be lighter and stronger than their competitors and therefore provide higher performances and resistance on any type of weather conditions.
Although she had an extensive refurbishment and refit in 2005 including all new interior fabrics, exterior paint and varnish, plus a meticulous mechanical overhaul, she also benefitted in Summer 2009 of a brand new air conditioning system and new refrigeration system.
The saloon and the Master have won a new paint job and the Internet support has been improved.
The final ingredient for successful chartering is a very experienced Captain and highly professional crew.
"SIGNE", true to her owners' desire to provide the best possible seamanship and service on board, has the crew that fulfils these standards in abundance.
